Joseph N. Greenfield (Pastor Joe)

Pastor Joe and Nancy started dating while attending Conneaut high school on April 10, 1970.  They were married on Setember 7, 1974.  They have resided in Conneaut, OH, Evansville, IN, and Wilmore, KY.  They have two grown children, Adam and Jodie.  Joe is a graduate of Lakeland Community College, Hiram College, and Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, KY.  Nancy is also a graduate of Lakeland Community College in Mentor, OH.  Joe has been employed in healthcare for over 25 years, initially as a Respiratory Therapist and now as an Echovascular Sonographer with the Lexington Clinic.  He has also Pastored churches in Ohio and Kentucky.  His music ministry, His Touch Ministry came into existence in the year 2000.  It began as a service ministry to others and has since developed into music, devotionals, part-time preaching, and counselling.  The couples newest ministry, Help Me To Live Again Ministries Inc. is a second chance ministry, and is for anyone who finds themselves being "swallowed up" by the enormity of life, and are now looking for the Lord to give them a new start.  Joe is a professional member of the Christian Country Music Association (CCMA) and is promoted in part by HMG-Nashville and Wayne Graham Syndicated Radio.  Pastor Joe is also a member of the American Association of Christian Counsellors.  Ms. Nancy has been employed by Jessamine County Schools since moving to Wilmore in 1995.  In the beginning she worked as a Day Care Teacher at Wilmore's Veterns Center (Thompson Hood), while now she works as a Teaching Partner at the Providence School in Nicholasville.  Recently, Joe and Nancy have been pursuing the purchase of "The Scott Station Inn Bed and Breakfast" located in their hometown of Wilmore.  The Scott Station Inn will also serve as the location and gathering place for "Help Me To Live Again Ministries Inc."  Pastor Joe and Nancy are commited to teaching others the power and promise of God that is available for daily living while helping them walk in the joy and victory of our Lord.

Joe first discovered the power of music around the age of five after his uncle had given him a 78 rpm record player.  For hours, he would huddle close to the single 4 inch speaker and listen to the sounds of Gene Autry, and Tennessee Ernie Ford.  Other musical influences soon to come were Chubby Checker, Elvis Presley, and Johnny Cash.  It was then he would first dream of singing for others.  In his high school years, he and other classmates would form a band named, “Forbidden Consent,” where Joe would be designated lead singer.  It was the plant of a new seed in Joe’s heart.  Following high school, music would take a back seat to the aspirations of marriage and the pursuing other dreams in life.  A few years following his marriage to high school sweetheart Nancy (Warren) in September of 1974, the couple would relocate to Evansville, Indiana where he would be employed as an Assistant Golf Professional.  Years later, in 1981, at a Sunday morning worship service at Bethel Temple in Evansville, the spark to sing for others would flicker once again.

Returning to Conneaut following the birth of their first child in 1981, Joe would begin his healthcare education where he graduated from Lakeland Community College, and Hiram College.  His music aspirations of the time consisted of a tryout with a local country band, and singing on a few occasions at Amboy UMC.  At this point, Joe’s singing lacked direction and purpose.

Then in 1986, a fresh young seminary graduate named Michael J. Teston was appointed Pastor at Amboy.  In the summer of that year, the two became friends and Rev. Mike introduced him to the Lord of heaven and earth.  It was over the course of the summer the Lord took Joe in and gave him the promise of love and relationship.  Along with that promise for Joe, came the joy of singing for Him.  Now his music had what it had been lacking, purpose, direction, and belonging.  He would team up with another Amboy member, Mr. Larry Sharpe, and together they would sing and minister around the Conneaut area until 1995 when the Greenfield family would relocate once again, only this time to Kentucky where Joe would attend Asbury Theological Seminary.

Eventually, in the fall of 2000, Joe would pursue his ministry and musical interests in other directions with the formation of His Touch Ministry.  Joe’s first album of cover songs, “Hymns for L.I.F.E.” was recorded and produced in Wilmore in 2006.  His second project, also cover songs, “Come & Worship” was completed in June 2008 and was recorded and produced in Lexington.  In July 2008, Joe received his first recording offer from Ms. Eva Hamlin of Tate Music Group in Oklahoma.  Like others, Ms. Hamlin told Joe she loved his music, but wanted to see original compositions.  He politely replied, “I’m sorry Ms. Hamlin, but in 25 years I have never written a single word to a single song.  Sadly, I probably never will.”  On August 30th, on a return trip from Nashville, the heavens were opened, and by destinations end that day Joe had written in his head his first song, “Because of You.”  Incredibly, by the following weeks end he had written 6 songs including an anniversary song for his wife Nancy, “The Wonder of His Love.”  Over the next month and a half Joe wrote 17 songs, and in four months time he wrote 21 songs.  Today, Joe has 32 songs on his resume’, 12 of which are included on his newest album “When Love Comes” released by HMG-Nashville in March 2009.

“It is my highest privilege and honor to sing my songs wherever the Lords leads.  My greatest hope is that others see my story is a wonderful testimony of the overflowing and abundant nature of the Lord in provision, power, love and grace.  What He has done for me, He will do for anyone.  He alone is worthy to be praised!  Worship Him always and He will honor you and bless you in ways you have never dreamed or imagined.  The joy of the Lord is our strength and song!"
